NHL Three Stars: Rask, Holtby stand tall in victories
No. 1 Star: Tuukka Rask, Boston Bruins
Rask recorded his fourth shutout of the year and 30th of his career with a 34-save night during a 3-0 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Max Talbot, Jimmy Hayes and Ryan Spooner provided the goals as Boston won for the fourth time in six games.
No. 2 Star: Braden Holtby, Washington Capitals
The netminder stopped 26 shots and won his fourth in a row as the Capitals edged the Ottawa Senators 2-1. It was the third straight game Holtby had allowed only a single goal. He now has an even strength save percentage of .944.
No. 3 Star: Michael Latta, Washington Capitals
Fresh off his performance as Flick, Latta notched two-thirds of the Gordie Howe Hat Trick with a goal and an assist in Washington’s win. It was Latta’s second multi-point game of his career.
Honorable Mention: Spooner had a goal and an assist and now has six points in his last five games … The Bruins have taken 21 out of a possible 26 points in their last 13 games.
