Who will win, Eagles or Bills? Predictions from ESPN, Sports Illustrated, CBS … – NJ.com
Has this Eagles‘ team turned a corner?
They certainly took the right direction last Sunday, securing an amazing upset victory over the New England Patriots on the road, saving their season and putting in a tie for first place in the NFC East.
The issue for this Eagles’ team all season, however, has been consistency. They get a chance to show they can string together two wins a row on Sunday when the Buffalo Bills come to Lincoln Financial Field, a game the Eagles should win, and need to if they want to keep pace in the NFC East.
Will they get it done?
Here is a collection of predictions from around the web:
NJ.com:
Eliot Shorr-Parks: It is starting to look like the team’s three-game losing streak, with two of those losses coming in blowout fashion, were a mirage more than a sign of what this team really is. The Eagles are 5-2 in the last seven games that quarterback Sam Bradford has started and finished, and the defense turned in one of it’s best games of the season last week against the Patriots. Consistency is a problem for the Eagles, but they seem to have turned a corner as a group. Eagles 30, Bills 23
Mark Eckel: Buffalo provides bad match-ups for the Eagles on both sides of the ball. A mobile quarterback in Tyrod Taylor, a running back playing with a vengeance in LeSean McCoy, a clutch tight end in Charles Clay and a big-time wide receiver in Sammy Watkins add up to a tough day for Billy Davis’ defense. Bills 27, Eagles 23
Sports Illustrated: (via Don Banks)
As much as LeSean McCoy wants this one for revenge on Chip Kelly, both teams should have ample motivation with just a check of the standings. I remember covering the Dallas at Philadelphia game in October 2006 that featured Terrell Owens returning to the scene of the crime after ruining the Eagles’ 2005 season. That day turned out well for the home team, with Philadelphia cruising to a 38–24 win and Owens catching an uneventful three passes for 45 yards. It’ll be roughly the same story Sunday, at least in terms of a vindicating Eagles victory. Eagles 27, Bills 20
ESPN:
Of the 13 experts polled, only four picked the Eagles.
MCCOY: Ex-Eagles RB LeSean McCoy’s most outrageous moments
CBS Sports (via Pete Prisco)
The Eagles pulled off a stunner last week at New England to save their season. At 5-7, they can still win the division. This won’t be an easy game, but the Bills are an up-and-down team. They were up last week. Down here. Eagles take it. Eagles 23, Bills 16
