Baltimore restaurant offers Chris Davis free crab cakes for life
The Baltimore Orioles have reportedly offered first baseman Chris Davis $150 million over seven years to re-sign with the team this winter, and if that isn’t enough a Baltimore-area seafood restaurant has an offer of its own.

Jimmy’s Famous Seafood posted on several of its social media accounts Thursday an offer to Davis and the next two generations of his family for free crab cakes for life. Nevermind the life-changing, multigenerational money being offered by the Orioles. Davis is apparently a big fan of the restaurant, and free crab cakes might be too much to pass up.
Davis played in a career-best 160 games last season and batted .262/.361/.562 with 47 homers and 117 RBIs. He will be 30 next season and still figures to have some big-bashing years ahead of him.

ESPN reported, citing unnamed sources, Thursday that Baltimore pulled its offer offer the table. While the Baltimore Sun said the club is standing by the offer, Jimmy’s Famous Seafood also is standing by its offer. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out and even more fun to see if Davis responds to the restaurant’s offer at some point down the road.
