Adrian Peterson’s 100th career touchdown is an absolute gem
There has been a clear pattern for the Minnesota Vikings and Adrian Peterson this season.
When he gets the ball a lot, good things happen: Entering Thursday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, they’re 8-0 when he gets 20 or more carries. And when he doesn’t, they’re 0-4. Simple as that.

And so a week after he was held to a season-low eight carries, the Vikings wasted no time getting him the rock. And he didn’t mess around once the end zone was near.
Watch as Peterson scored his 100th career touchdown — 95 rushing, five receiving — on a gorgeous jump cut, another shimmy and then a burst forward into the end zone, giving the Vikings a 7-3 lead on the play.
How impressive is his 100-TD total? It’s the second-most among active players, behind Antonio Gates’ 103, and it’s tied for 21st all time with Hall of Fame running backs Curtis Martin and Franco Harris. Who is first? That would be Jerry Rice and his — no joke — 208 touchdowns. Peterson has some work to do to get the GOAT.
