Patrick Kane extends point streak to 23 games, records 600th NHL point (Video)
Patrick Kane extended his Chicago Blackhawks franchise record point streak and recorded his 600th NHL point with an empty-net goal during a 4-1 win over the Nashville Predators.
As soon as the third period began and Teuvo Teravainen extended the lead to 3-1, thoughts immediately wandered to an empty-net chance being the reason Kane keeps his streak alive. With 1:36 remaining in the third, he got his chance and buried it from just inside the neutral zone.
In 604 career NHL games, Kane now has 600 points, which puts him sixth overall in points per game (.993) among active players. Over the course of this 23-game streak he has 14 goals and 37 points, helping him to the top of the NHL scoring race and many early ballots for the Hart Trophy.
