Luke Kuechly surprises fan with cerebral palsy and autism with a birthday party
The undefeated Carolina Panthers continue doing everything just right.
Two days before Carolina’s dramatic win over the New Orleans Saints, linebacker Luke Kuechly surprised one of his fans, a woman stricken with cerebral palsy and autism, with a 21st birthday party. Jessica Hayes, a resident of Newton, N.C., had wanted to meet Kuechly and, in her words, “give him one of my famous hugs.”
In a meeting organized by charitable organization “Dream on 3,” Kuechly brought a bouquet of flowers and a limo to pick up Hayes. “Hopefully she’s excited. Hopefully she doesn’t get to talking and think…’oooh, I wanted Cam [Newton] to come,'” he laughed beforehand. (For video of the meeting, click here.)

Kuechly joined Jessica as her date for her birthday party in Charlotte, posing for pictures, signing for autographs, and meeting with her friends as Jessica led the crowd in the whip and the nae nae. A fine gesture all the way around.
