O'Day agrees to four-year, $31M deal with O's
Reliever Darren O’Day has agreed to a four-year deal to remain with the Orioles, sources say. The deal is expected to be for $31 million over the four years.
The final decision came down to the Orioles and Nationals. The Dodgers and Braves also showed interest in the righty.
O’Day’s wife, Liz Prann, is a TV reporter for FOX based in Washington, which may have had some influence in the decision.
O’Day, 6-2 with a 1.52 ERA in 2015, has improved his ERA each of the past three seasons, going from 2.28 to 2.18 to 1.70 to the 1.52. He hasn’t had a WHIP above 1 in any of those seasons.
Darren O’Day has established himself the past four seasons in Baltimore. (USATSI)
