Canucks' Prust spears B's Marchand in groin
The Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins don’t play all that often, but ever since their Stanley Cup Final meeting back in 2011 their games always seem to find a way to turn a little nasty.
It happened again on Saturday night during the Bruins’ 4-0 win.
It all started just two minutes into the game when Derek Dorsett and Zac Rinaldo took part in a spirited fight, one of three different encounters the two would have throughout the night.
But the play that is going to get the most attention from this game is going to be this incident involving Vancouver’s Brandon Prust and Boston’s Brad Marchand.
Late in the game, and far away from the play, Prust skated over to Marchand and speared him right in the groin, dropping the Bruins’ forward to the ice. Prust made no effort to hide it, either. He just went right over, did it, and skated away like it was no big deal.
Prust was immediately given a 10-minute misconduct. He also might be getting a phone call from the department of player safety on Sunday.
