Swiss player scores beautiful goal, misses empty-net breakaway later (Video)
Martin Pluss of Switzerland’s SC Bern had an eventful game Friday night against EHC Biel. The 38-year old forward scored what turned out to be the winning goal in beautiful fashion late in the third period. Then minutes later, he botched an empty net breakaway opportunity.
First, here’s Pluss’ eighth goal of the season, which came after slicing through Biel:
Memorable goal, right? Well, Biel would cut the lead to 4-3 and with their net empty and the final minute approaching, Pluss had the goldenest of golden opportunities to put the game out of reach.
Only he Patrik Stefan’d it.
It doesn’t matter if you can’t understand the language of the play-by-play man, we all can translate just how incredulous he felt during that miss.
Fortunately for Pluss and Bern, they held on for a 4-3 win.
