Michigan State DB hauls in crazy interception off teammate’s back (Video)
Iowa had a chance to extend its lead over Michigan State in the first half of the Big Ten title game, but the Spartans defense made a big play.
Facing a third-and-goal from the five-yard line, Hawkeyes quarterback C.J. Beathard went to the air. He tried to squeeze one in to tight end George Kittle, but Kittle took a big hit from MSU linebacker Riley Bullough. The hit jarred the ball loose and into the air.
As Bullough fell to the ground from the impact of the hit, the ball fell onto his shoulder pad, allowing Demetrious Cox to scoop up the ball before it hit the turf for an interception.
If Kittle would have held on to the pass, the Hawkeyes would have extended their lead to 13-3. Instead, the score stayed at 6-3 headed into halftime.
It remains to be seen what kind of impact that play will have on the outcome of the game.
