This is it. The end of the college football regular season. The months of speculation about who will be in the playoff ends when teams play their way in or out of the field.
No. 3 Iowa and No. 5 Michigan State face each other the Big Ten championship game that amounts to a playoff quarterfinal. The winner advances. The loser likely goes to the Rose Bowl.
No. 1 Clemson just needs to beat No. 10 North Carolina in the ACC title game to lock up its place. No. 2 Alabama faces No. 18 Florida for the SEC title in a similar win-and-in situation.
If one of the top two slip up, No. 7 Stanford has a final chance to make its case against No. 24 USC in the Pac-12 title game.
