Modano, Roenick headline North Stars/Wild vs. Blackhawks Stadium Series alumni game
The NHL announced the alumni game rosters for February’s Stadium Series game between the Minnesota North Stars/Wild and the Chicago Blackhawks.
First, here’s who will be on the TCF Bank Stadium ice come Feb. 20:
Good to see big names like Chris Chelios, Jeremy Roenick, Denis Savard, Mike Modano and Dino Ciccarelli there. But we can’t help but notice a lack of players that could be involved who are currently not listed.
For the Blackhawks, we’d love to see Al Secord, currently an airline pilot, or San Jose Sharks scout Dirk Graham; or how about Steve Larmer? Doug Wilson? Ed Belfour? Ed Olczyk? Darren Pang?
As for Tony Amonte, he’s the varsity coach at Thayer Academy in Massachusetts and the team is slated to play in one of their final regular season games that day so that could explain his absence.
For the North Stars/Wild side, bring on Basil McRae, Dave Gagner and Mark Tinordi. At least Brian Bellows will be there. He’s the best from what Bryan Trottier tells us.
Finally, what about goaltender Cesare Maniago? He may be 76, but if Bernie Parent could play a couple of minutes…
