Before Week 12 of the 2015 NFL season schedule kicks off, I thought we would have some fun by taking a look at the spreads for this week’s round of games. (Click here for NFL Week 12 picks without regard to the spread.)

Here are my suggestions when trying to beat the odds. You can find all of today’s NFL betting lines and more at the SB Nation odds page via OddsShark. My record so far this season is 63-78-5 after going 5-7-1 last week. I really need a winning week. Or five.

2015 NFL WEEK 12 PICKS AGAINST THE SPREAD

New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans (-3): Houston has managed to win four out of their last five games. Their defense has only allowed a total of 27 points over the last three games. Meanwhile, the Saints’ defense is just too awful to bet on. Pick: Texans -3

Oakland Raiders (-1.5) at Tennessee Titans: The Raiders were showing some promise before going on a three game losing streak. The Titans are coming off a little extra rest having played on Thursday Night Football in Week 11. I’d like to think former Eagles quarterback Marcus Mariota can get the job done here, but I’ll bet on Oakland to turn their fortune around instead. Pick: Raiders -1.5

New York Giants (-3) at Washington Redskins: One of these two teams is probably going to win the NFC East since the Eagles and Cowboys are awful. The Giants already beat Washington this year, but I don’t think they’ll go for the sweep. I like Washington here, especially with the points. I think I think they’ll win the division, too. What a year. Pick: Washington +3

San Diego Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars (-4.5): I wouldn’t bet on this game. I don’t trust the Jaguars enough to cover, and the Chargers are terrible. Maybe Philip Rivers will bail me out. Pick: Chargers +4.5

Miami Dolphins at New York Jets (-4): The Jets have lost four out of their last five games. The good news (?) for them is that they’ve all been one possession losses. I don’t think the Dolphins are really any good, so I’ll take Todd Bowles to win here. Pick: Jets -4

St. Louis Rams at Cincinnati Bengals (-9): It looks like Nick Foles is back to being a starting quarterback since Case Keenum got hurt. The Bengals are too good to lose three games in a row, especially with this one being at home. It’s just a matter of them being able to cover. I’ll say they do it. Pick: Bengals -9

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Indianapolis Colts (-3): Matt Hasselbeck has played well in relief of Andrew Luck. The Bucs have won three out of their last four games and seem to be getting hot at the right time. I like the upset potential here for them. Pick: Buccaneers +3

Minnesota Vikings at Atlanta Falcons (-1.5): The Falcons look like bigger frauds with each passing week. They’ve lost three in a row. Will that drop to four? I don’t think so. I’ll take Atlanta to stop the bleeding here. Pick: Falcons -1.5

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs (-6): Andy Reid’s Chiefs are hot. They’ve won their last four games. I trust them to get this win at home against a Buffalo team that’s coming off a short week. Pick: Chiefs -6

Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers: Let’s keep it simple: the Cardinals are really good and the 49ers are really bad. Pick: Cardinals -10

Pittsburgh Steelers at Seattle Seahawks (-3.5): Outside of the Cardinals’ game, Seattle’s defense has been really good recently. I don’t like the Steelers’ chances so much on the west coast. Pick: Seahawks -6

New England Patriots (-3) at Denver Broncos: I’m not going to outsmart myself here. Tom Brady > Brock Osweiler. No use in betting against the reigning champs. Pick: Patriots -3

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns: Matt Schaub is so brutal. Not that the Browns are much better, but at least they have home field advantage here. I guess. Should be an ugly game. Pick: Browns -3
