Who will win, Eagles or Buccaneers? Predictions from ESPN, Sports Illustrated … – NJ.com
Did Eagles head coach Chip Kelly make the right call this offseason, bringing in Sam Bradford instead of trusting backup Mark Sanchez?
We are about to start getting the answer to that question on Sunday, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come to Lincoln Financial Field for a Week 11 matchup with the Eagles.
The Eagles, coming off of an embarrassing loss to the Miami Dolphins, desperately need a win, and will turn to Sanchez to get it, as Bradford is out with both a concussion and shoulder injury.
So will they get it?
Here is a round up of predictions:
NJ.com:
Eliot Shorr-Parks: This Eagles team is starting to feel snake-bitten, also starting to get the feel of a team dead in the water. The Buccaneers, on the other hand, have won two of their last three, and are getting some serious leadership from rookie quarterback Jameis Winston. Who is going to step up for the Eagles? If Sam Bradford was playing, I might pick the Buccaneers. But this Eagles team needs a spark, and for at least this week, I think backup Mark Sanchez gives it to them. Eagles 31, Buccaneers 16.
EAGLES: Who will be the QB next season?
Mark Eckel: There are a lot of reasons to pick a Buccaneers team that has been playing better of late against an Eagles team coming off its worst loss in years. Still, if this Eagles team has shown anything this disappointing season it’s resiliency. With their backs to the wall more than the Mona Lisa, the Eagles have responded every time. They will again Sunday with a tough, gritty win over Tampa Bay. Eagles 20, Bucs 16.
ESPN:
Of the 13 experts polled, 12 picked the Eagles. The only expert not to pick the Eagles was NFL analyst Mark Schlereth.

The pattern has been that Mark Sanchez usually plays pretty well at first, before he eventually turns back into Mark Sanchez. So, in his first start since taking over for the injured Sam Bradford, I like the Eagles at home over a Bucs team that has admirably battled its way to the cusp of .500. Eagles 20, Buccaneers 17

The Eagles suffered a bad loss last week to the Dolphins and now must play without Sam Bradford. That means Mark Sanchez is in as the starter. The Bucs have improved on defense, and they are still alive. But it won’t matter here, even with Sanchez playing. Eagles 33, Buccaneers 21
