NFL picks against the spread, Week 11: Looking for a bounceback week in the … – SB Nation
I’m taking part in the 2015 SuperContest with the folks at OddsShark, so it is time to take you along for the ride. Here are my Week 11 picks against the spread.
Welcome back for Week 11 of the 2015 NFL season. The return of the NFL means gambling is back in our lives. The NFL might frown upon it, but gambling and fantasy football are two of the biggest reasons for the NFL’s insane level of popularity. I think they’ll put up with it.
This year I am back for another crack at the LVH SuperContest. The contest includes over 1,400 participants picking games each week to see who can come out on top. Our partners at OddsShark have staked myself and a handful of other participants in the SuperContest. You can track all of us here, and you can follow the standings here.
The contest involves picking five games each week, for 17 weeks. You get to choose which five games you will pick. The lines are locked in Wednesday evening, and picks are submitted by the end of the week. I am currently sitting at 32-16-2. I had my worst week of the season this past week, going 2-3, following the previous week’s 4-1. Let’s see if I can bounce back! Here are my five picks for Week 11.
CAROLINA PANTHERS (-7) over Washington
Washington is coming off a dominant win over the New Orleans Saints, and people are high on the Kirk Cousins bandwagon. He can do some good things against bad defenses, but this wager is about the Panthers’ defense at home. Washington could get the backdoor cover or push on this one, but I like the Carolina defense.
MIAMI DOLPHINS (PK) vs. Dallas Cowboys
Tony Romo’s return has the public backing Dallas in a big way. With over 74 percent of public money coming in on Dallas, I’m looking to go the other way. Romo could very well light up the Dolphins, but I think his first game back, on the road, makes for a decent option.
Green Bay Packers (+1) over MINNESOTA VIKINGS
The Packers are reeling with three straight losses. The Vikings are suddenly in first place. Minnesota is 4-2 ATS in their last six home games against the Packers, but Green Bay is 4-1 SU in the last five games in Minnesota. Make what you want of a stat like that, but I’ll take Aaron Rodgers as an underdog all day.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (-5.5) over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs are coming off an outright win over the Cowboys. The Eagles are coming off a loss to Miami and are replacing Sam Bradford at quarterback. Odds-makers are just begging you to take the Bucs with this line. I’m taking my chances with Chip Kelly.
Denver Broncos (+1) over CHICAGO BEARS
The Broncos are starting Brock Osweiler for the first time, against a hot Bears team. This has people quickly jumping on the Bears bandwagon. Consider me skeptical of the Bears against a Broncos defense that is looking sharp. The unit will be missing DeMarcus Ware, but they get Aqib Talib back. I’m betting on Jay Cutler regressing a bit.
Here are all my picks for Week 11 (4-10 last week, 73-68-4 overall):
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS vs. Tennessee Titans (+3): Jaguars – Win
CAROLINA PANTHERS vs. Washington (+7): Panthers
DETROIT LIONS vs. Oakland Raiders (-2): Lions

BALTIMORE RAVENS vs. St. Louis Rams (+2): Ravens
