Carey Price expected to return from injury Friday at Islanders
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price is expected return to action Friday when the team takes on the New York Islanders. The Habs announced the news on their official Twitter feed Thursday after a 3-2 regulation home loss to the Arizona Coyotes.
Price, the reigning league MVP and Vezina Trophy winner, has been out since Oct. 29 with a lower body injury. Price approved of the news with an emphatic ‘thumb-up’ tweet.
Price returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since he suffered the injury.
The 28-year-old Price is 7-2-0 with a 2.01 goal-against average and .936 save percentage. Last season Price went 44-16-6 with a 1.96 goal-against average and .933 save percentage.
Since Price’s injury (his last game played was Oct. 29) the Habs have gone 5-2-2. Before Price was hurt they were 9-2-0. Montreal is 14-4-0 and tied with the New York Rangers for most points in the Eastern Conference.
