NHL Three Stars: Scheifele powers Jets; Kuznetsov wins it for Capitals
No. 1 Star: Mark Scheifele, Winnipeg Jets
Scheifele opened the scoring with a power play tally and ensured the two points for the Jets with an insurance marker late in the third during a 4-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks. He’d add a assist for his first multi-point game of the season as the Jets snapped a six-game losing streak.
No. 2 Star: Evgeny Kuznetsov, Washington Capitals
The Capitals took advantage of a Detroit Red Wings line change and Kuznetsov found space to skate by Henrik Zetterberg to pot the winner for a 2-1 victory.
