Patriots OT Nate Solder, cancer survivor, says infant son has cancer
New England Patriots offensive tackle Nate Solder played the entire 2014 season after being diagnosed with testicular cancer. He survived it, after it was detected early on, just to have his family get another dose of crushing news.
Solder revealed that his infant son Hudson was diagnosed last month with a Wilms’ tumor in his kidneys, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald. Howe said Solder was speaking at a gala benefiting the Joe Andruzzi Foundation on Monday night when he revealed the news.
Hudson was born in July and is Solder and his wife’s first child, Solder said on his Twitter account.
Solder is on injured reserve with a biceps injury.
