Missouri DT Terry Beckner Jr., to undergo MRI for knee injury
Missouri star defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr., will undergo an MRI on his right knee and will miss Saturday’s home finale against Tennessee, coach Gary Pinkel announced Monday.
Beckner suffered the injury during the first defensive play against BYU last weekend when left guard Ryker Mathews went to cut block him. Beckner’s foot got caught in the turf and his knee bent awkwardly.
Beckner was able to walk off the field, but ultimately had to be carted to the locker room after his knee was placed in a brace.
Pinkel said after the game that he feared Beckner injured his medial collateral ligament.
“It could be more (than a sprain),” Pinkel said. “He’s had such a great year.”
Beckner has made five starts this season, including the last two games. He’s made three sacks and eight tackles for loss.
