Bowling Green’s Gehrig Dieter makes great one-handed TD catch (Video)
Bowling Green WR Gehrig Dieter’s second-quarter touchdown was thanks to instant replay.
OK, it was a product of an incredible catch too. But Dieter was only granted the catch against Toledo on Tuesday thanks to the freeze-frame ability of replay. Here’s how it looked in slow motion. Even at a reduced rate of speed the completion is borderline.
But when you really slow it down you can see that Dieter gained possession right as his toe was still on the ground. The pass was initially ruled incomplete on the field and reversed to a touchdown after it was examined by officials.
The touchdown brought Bowling Green to within 30-14 at halftime. Toledo jumped out to a 20-0 lead before Bowling Green scored thanks to two Falcons turnovers.
