Where are the money-making opportunities on the Week 10 NFL betting slate? Here’s a breakdown of two matchups that have the potential to fatten your wallet on Sunday.
Cowboys vs. Buccaneers
Before the season, there’s no way you would ever think of Tampa Bay (3-5) as a home favorite against Dallas (2-6). But Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is making a case for NFL MVP without even playing because his team has not won a game without him, losing six straight and going 1-5 against the spread since he went down with a shoulder injury in Week 2. Dallas has been competitive in its last two games but has to play four of its next five games on the road, starting with this visit to Raymond James Stadium.
The Buccaneers are coming off a 32-18 home loss to the New York Giants last Sunday as 1.5-point underdogs and find themselves as comparable favorites this week. They have consistently found a way to bounce back though, going 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a non-cover. The favorite is also 5-1 ATS in the past six meetings, proving that oddsmakers have done a good job picking the better team in this matchup.
The Vikings (6-2) have won their last two games by a field goal to move into a tie for the lead in the NFC North with the Green Bay Packers, who have lost two in a row. But Minnesota could have easily lost either of those on the road to the Chicago Bears or at home to the St. Louis Rams, who fell 21-18 in overtime last Sunday. Minnesota quarterback Teddy Bridgewater appears to be good to go after suffering a concussion against the Rams, and the team has been playing well since losing its season opener, covering seven straight games. But the one game the Vikings did not cover was also in the Bay Area when they lost 20-3 to the San Francisco 49ers as 3-point road favorites.
Meanwhile, the Raiders (4-4) have covered their last three games, including a 38-35 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week as 5.5-point road underdogs. Oakland deserves to be a small favorite here because the team has been in every game since the season opener, with all three losses decided by six points or less. The Raiders have gone 6-2 ATS in their last eight following a loss, and they are also 5-2 SU and ATS in their previous seven home games. Look for Oakland to hand Minnesota its second loss by the Bay this season and cover easily.
