Bold fantasy football predictions for Week 10 – USA TODAY
Fantasy football players often have to take chances to win. Our staffers made some bold calls for this weekend.
Consider putting these players in your Week 10 fantasy football lineups.
Ameer re-emerges for Lions
Heading into the bye week under new offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter — I will write that name as often as possible — the Detroit Lions favored running back Joique Bell. After their vacation, the Coot said Ameer Abdullah’s “role will be growing.” Fumbles and game flow have restricted his touches, but if they’re going to fix his contributions, you can expect more zone-blocking calls to accentuate his positives.
Detroit has to try something new. On Sunday, that will require a heavy dose of their potential feature back to keep Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on the sidelines. Calling 100-plus offensive yards with at least one score for Abdullah. -Tim Heaney
No need for Big Ben
Ben Roethlisberger is pushing to play a week after spraining his foot. The door remains open, but the Steelers won’t risk it with a bye coming. They’ll make the right call starting Landry Jones, who is 12-for-16 for 249 yards and two touchdowns when replacing Roethlisberger in the fourth quarter this year. After all, they are facing the Cleveland Browns at home.
Rankings | waiver wire | sleepers | busts
The Steelers coaching staff has no reservations letting Landry chuck the ball, and they shouldn’t in this one with Joe Haden and Donte Whitner likely out again. Jones will approach 300 yards passing in this one while Antonio Brown goes off for another 100-yard game. -Keith Hernandez
Locketted up no more
Tyler Lockett will set a game best in receptions and yards against Arizona. With the Seattle O-line playing less than stellar, getting the ball out quickly to play makers would serve Russell Wilson well. Speedy receivers have caused Arizona some fits this year.
Coming out of a Bye, look for Lockett to be unleashed to the tune of six catches, 100-plus yards and a score. -Ryan Bonini
A White-out in November
New England’s offense won’t miss a beat when replacing running back Dion Lewis, since the position’s production is largely systemic. James White — not Brandon Bolden — will be used to replace Lewis in games that call for pass-heavy attacks. Consider this one of them.
White will catch six passes for 93 yards and score twice. -Cory Bonini
