Notre Dame WR Will Fuller says he’s returning in 2016
Notre Dame star wide receiver Will Fuller said Wednesday he’s not planning on heading to the NFL after the season.
He mentioned his degree as a driving force in why he wanted to stay another season.
Fuller is a psychology major.
Fuller has 44 catches for 900 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2015. He’s forged a strong connection with quarterback Deshone Kizer. Fuller caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Kizer against Virginia and Kizer found him for the game-winning score against Temple. Fuller has caught a touchdown in each of Notre Dame’s games except for the one.
Perhaps not-so-coincidentally, the touchdown-free game was Notre Dame’s 24-22 loss to Clemson.
Fuller had 76 catches for 1,094 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2014 after having six catches in 2013. If and when he’s drafted, he’s a likely early-round pick in the NFL draft.
