Salvador Perez soaks Jimmy Fallon with ice bath on ‘Tonight Show’
One day after celebrating the franchise’s first World Series championship since 1985, members of the Kansas City Royals took over late night television on Wednesday.
World Series MVP Salvador Perez and Game 5 hero Eric Hosmer returned to New York to make an appearance on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, while Mike Moustakas, Jeremy Guthrie and Drew Butera helped Royals’ fan Eric Stonestreet settle his bet with Jimmy Kimmel on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live.’

Not surprisingly, both appearances led to some hilarious moments. That includes a Tonight Show appearance from Bret Saberhagen, a member of the 1985 Royals championship team, who exacted revenge on himself for his terrible rapping and dancing during a car ad from 30 years ago.
However, it was Perez who won the night by completely dousing Fallon with a show-ending ice bath similar to those he gave teammates all season.
For those who have followed the Royals success or read Big League Stew during the postseason, you know how important a part Perez plays. We’re talking on the field as a player and in the clubhouse as a leader. But our favorite role for Perez is definitely that of the ceremonial provider of ice baths.
Even with bruised fingers and banged up knees, Perez never missed his chance to soak a teammate. Of course, by October, his teammates knew exactly what was coming. Most didn’t mind, but it did lead to Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal getting soaked after Game 1 of the ALCS when Edinson Vozquez moved and avoided a complete dousing.
That was unintentional. Fallon’s was quite intentional, and definitely good for some laughs.
Here are some other scenes from the duo’s trip to New York.
The Royals twitter account also had a message for Fallon.
Meanwhile, on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” it was Eric Stonestreet and company taking aim at Kimmel with paintball guns.
Unfortunately, die-hard Royals fan Paul Rudd was not availabile, but Seth Rogan got involved.

Needless to say, the Royals are still wreaking havoc and are having all kinds of fun following their World Series victory.
