Phil Kessel shot caroms off crossbar and into Penguins bench

Phil Kessel was the talk of the Pittsburgh Penguins game at the Vancouver Canucks.

Not because of a nice goal, but instead a type of play that few had seen before. Kessel fired a puck at the Canucks net that hit crossbar so hard that it flew back 40 feet into the Pittsburgh Penguins bench. The play happened during the second period of the game.

OK. I have never seen that before. Phil Kessel just hit the bar so hard, it landed in the Penguins bench. Wow.

The puck hitting the crossbar and landing in the bench is still the talk of the press box. No one has ever seen that before.

Kessel has eight points in 12 games with the Penguins (including two assists in this contest) and Pittsburgh has won seven of their last eight games.

Currently the Penguins are up 3-1 on the Canucks in the third period.
