Mets GM Sandy Alderson fine after fainting at press conference
The last few months have been understandly hectic for New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson.
Starting with a busy trade deadline, where he pulled off a number of trades that helped propel the Mets all the way to the World Series, Alderson’s been pretty swamped lately. And who could forget the whole Matt Harvey-innings limit saga that played out so publicly? We can only imagine how much of a toll that took on everyone in the organization, especially Alderson. It was one heck of a run, but all those long hours might have caught up to him Wednesday.

Alderson collapsed during a press conference at Citi Field to announce manager Terry Collins’ two-year contract extension, frightening those in attendance.
Fortunately, the 67-year-old Alderson was back on his feet soon and even able to make light of the situation.
Mets officials are saying that Alderson skipped breakfast and that he felt light-headed before he briefly lost consciousness. He was examined by the medical staff on site and is expected to seek further attention.

Get some well-deserved rest, Mr. Alderson. And remember: breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
