Celtics’ Crowder buries 94-foot inbounds pass for world’s greatest turnover
A great play does not have to succeed to qualify as a notable highlight. Plenty of NBA players pull off incredible dribbling moves and passes that don’t end with points, but they’re still worthy of our attention and awe. It’s still something we’ve never seen before, even if it doesn’t technically count.

The official play-by-play will say that Boston Celtics wing Jae Crowder turned the ball over on an inbounds pass with 1.1 seconds remaining in the second quarter of Wednesday’s road game against the Indiana Pacers. But anyone who saw it knows that Crowder threw the ball in from the opposite baseline:

Yes, that basket doesn’t technically count, because an inbounds pass must touch another player to become a live ball. But the rules don’t change the fact that this is one of the most incredible highlights we’ll see all season. Take a bow, Mr. Crowder.
