Bayern, Man United in for Harry Kane
The winter window gets closer with each passing day and the transfer rumour mill is starting to pick up steam. As always, Transfer Talk has the latest and greatest. See all the summer deals here.
Auf wiedersehen Harry?
When you’ve got Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller as forwards, some would say that chasing Harry Kane is just plain greedy. But no, The Sun reports that Bayern Munich are “looking at stars for the future” and could make look to beat Manchester United to a £50 million deal for the Tottenham talisman next summer.
England international Kane found his scoring touch again with a hat trick at Bournemouth last weekend, and The Sun suggests that Bayern have scouted the 22-year-old three times with a view to a potential move. Spanish paper Sport reports that Bayern hope to convince Kane on an Allianz Arena move with news that coach Pep Guardiola is “very close” to a contract extension.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is understandably keen on keeping Kane at White Hart Lane, but any potential interest from the Bundesliga champions will be music to his ears if it sparks United into putting together a package in the same region as the eye-watering £58 million Monaco may well receive for Anthony Martial.
Drogba eyes Serie A switch
With the MLS close season approaching next month, there may well be a few big-name players looking for loan moves back to Europe over the winter. Didier Drogba has been in superb form for the Montreal Impact — making quick-fire back-heeled goals on MLS Decision Day look like a basic skill in any striker’s locker — to help the Canadian club through to the Eastern Conference playoff semifinals, and the Mirror reports that the former Chelsea forward is considering a temporary spell with Bologna.
The paper says that Joey Saputo, who owns both Montreal and Bologna, “wants to tempt the 37-year-old to Italy for a three-month stint.”
Bologna are currently struggling in the Serie A relegation zone with just nine points from 11 games, and Drogba could well be the spark that I Felsinei need to turn their stuttering season around.
Speaking of another club struggling at the wrong end of the table… Chelsea have reportedly ruled out a third spell at Stamford Bridge for Drogba, clearing the path for a short stint in Italy for the former Ivory Coast captain.

Mou future could decide Hazard fate
The fate of Jose Mourinho could have serious consequences for a number of Chelsea’s players, with reports alleging this weekend that certain members of the Stamford Bridge playing squad aren’t exactly behind the under-fire Portuguese coach.
No Chelsea player would be foolish enough to publicly criticise Mourinho while he is still their coach, but Eden Hazard may be paying close attention with sources telling ESPN FC that the Special One has two games to save his job.
Hazard has been in terrible form this season having won last season’s PFA Player of the Year award for a stunning 2014-15 campaign, and the Daily Mail reports that “the 24-year-old is already determined to force a move to Real Madrid next summer if Mourinho remains in charge at the London club beyond the end of the season.”
The paper suggests that “Hazard has a long-standing ambition to play for the Spanish giants he supported as a boy… and idolises [Castilla coach] Zinedine Zidane.”
It seems that Roman Abramovich may well have to decide between keeping either Mourinho or Hazard. This is one time we don’t envy you, Roman.
Liverpool losing ‘next Gerrard’
It’s both a blessing and a curse for any Liverpool youngster to be labelled “the next Steven Gerrard,” but even that praise from former Kop hero Robbie Fowler might not be enough to keep Jordan Rossiter at Anfield.
The Daily Express reports that the 18-year-old midfielder “could be on his way out of Liverpool after contract talks with the club stalled,” with Rossiter’s current deal expiring next summer.
The starlet is bound to attract a lot of interest with Fowler’s words ringing in desperate managers’ ears, but let’s face it — if Jurgen Klopp can’t convince Rossiter to stay, then nobody can.
Tap-ins
– Aston Villa could be about to make their most important signing of the season, with BBC Sport reporting that ex-Lyon boss Remi Garde is set to sign a three-and-a-half-year deal to take the vacant managerial position following Tim Sherwood’s sacking. Good luck at Villa Park, Remi — it looks like you’ll need it.
– Nobody knows what will happen to Jose Mourinho, but one person definitely staying at Stamford Bridge is Alex Davey. The 20-year-old defender — currently on loan at Peterborough United — joined the Blues 10 years ago, and has signed a new deal to remain at Stamford Bridge.
Happy to have signed another contract with @ChelseaFC , it’s been 10 years at the club now loved every minute of it 🙌👊⚽️

– Gaston Ramirez is a January target for Lazio, according to the Mirror. The 24-year-old Uruguay midfielder’s contract runs out next summer, and the Saints could reportedly look to sell Ramirez in the winter transfer window rather than risk losing him for nothing at the end of the season.
