Barrett forfeits summer aid, Braxton backup QB
Things keep getting worse for J.T. Barrett.
The Ohio State quarterback was arrested early Saturday morning on misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The school announced on Saturday that Barrett would be suspended for the Buckeyes game against Minnesota on Nov. 7.
During his Monday press conference, Urban Meyer said that Barrett would have to complete counseling through the school and would also forfeit his scholarship for a term. According to The Lantern‘s Ryan Cooper, Barrett will forfeit his summer aid.

Meyer also said Barrett will have the opportunity to earn his scholarship back. Despite the suspension and loss of scholarship, Meyer noted that, as of now, Barrett will remain a captain on the team.
Ohio State will go back to starting Cardale Jones this week, just two weeks after replacing Jones with Barrett. Meyer announced that Braxton Miller is the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart this week with Barrett out. Miller made the move from quarterback to wide receiver/h-back during the offseason.
