UNH hockey picks up big win over Merrimack – Concord Monitor
Andrew Poturalski scored a pair of power-play goals to lead the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team to a 4-2 victory over No. 17 Merrimack.
The win bumps the Wildcats up to 3-2-1 on the year and 1-0-1 in Hockey East play, while the Warriors fall to 3-1-2 and 1-1-2 in the conference. Also scoring goals for the Wildcats were freshman Ara Nazarian and sophomore Richard Boyd.
Adam Clark made 28 saves on 30 shots faced and earned his second win of the season, improving to 2-0-0 on the year. The Wildcats went 2-for-7 on the power play, while Merrimack was held scoreless on five chances.
The Wildcats travel to Michigan State on Friday and Saturday for 7 p.m. games. New Hampshire is home next on Nov. 20 when it hosts Massachusetts at 7 p.m.
