Pelicans C Perkins out indefinitely with pec injury
NEW ORLEANS — The Pelicans say there is no timetable for how long veteran center Kendrick Perkins will need to come back from a pectoral injury.
Perkins, who started New Orleans’ first three games, was hurt in the first quarter Saturday night in a 134-120 loss to the Golden State Warriors.
He has averaged 5.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game this season. His injury came in the same game that Pelicans center Omer Asik made his return from a right calf injury.
The Pelicans have backup center Alexis Ajinca available and will rotate 6-foot-10 power forward Anthony Davis to that spot in certain situations.
