Some more fun facts:
– Curtis Granderson only has three career hits off Edinson Volquez, including the postseason, and all three are home runs (credit Devan Fink).
– Remember Royals leadoff man Alcides Escobar with an inside-the-park home run in Game 1? MLB public relations reports this is the second World Series with multiple leadoff homers. And wouldn’t you know it, the Mets were involved in the first one. In 1969, Don Buford had a leadoff homer in Game 1 (off Hall of Famer Tom Seaver) and Tommy Agee of the Mets had a leadoff homer in Game 3 (off Hall of Famer Jim Palmer).
