Rutgers WR Leonte Carroo out vs. Wisconsin
Rutgers wide receiver Leonte Carroo will not play in Saturday’s game at Wisconsin.
The program announced the news about an hour prior to the noon kick time.
According to the Asbury Park Press, Carroo has been dealing with an ankle injury and did not practice all week or take part in pregame warm-ups on Saturday morning.
Carroo started for the Scarlet Knights last week against Ohio State, but was unable to continue in the second half due to the ankle issue, which occurred during the the game against Indiana on Oct. 17.
The senior has played in only five games this season due to a suspension after being accused of domestic assault. The charges were later dropped and he returned on Oct. 10 against Michigan State after missing games against Penn State and Kansas.
Despite missing those games, Carroo leads the Big Ten with nine touchdown catches. Overall, he has 24 catches for 527 yards – good for a 22 yards per catch average.
Without Carroo the Scarlet Knights (3-4, 1-3) face an even tougher challenge at Camp Randall against a Wisconsin (6-2, 3-1) team that has won three straight games.
