After the game, Calgary coach Bob Hartley said Hiller sustained a “lower-body” injury. Ryan was given two minutes for goaltender interference. He also left the game after the play but returned.
Hiller stopped 14 of 18 Senators shots on goal. The Senators were up 4-3 at the time of the collision. He was relieved by Joni Ortio.
Ryan also scored a goal in the game – his first non-empty net score of the season. The Senators won a 5-4 shootout decision.
