Herschel Walker thinks Washington should trade RG3 to Dallas
Herschel Walker remains one of the NFL’s more fascinating figures. An immortal college running back, his primary impact in the pros was as the centerpiece of a trade that reshaped the entire Dallas Cowboys franchise in the mid-1990s. So the man knows a thing or two about wheeling and dealing with a Texas team.
he’s got another idea for a Cowboys trade: a certain Washington quarterback currently languishing in obscurity. “If RG3’s got nothing to do, and Mr. Snyder doesn’t mind, send him down to Dallas,” Walker said while on a Heisman tour.
With that in mind,It’s not the first time someone has aired the possibility of sending Robert Griffin III to the Cowboys, and it probably won’t be the last. Griffin hasn’t played all season, and indeed has only been on the active roster for only a single game.

The odds that anyone, even Dan Snyder, would send a potential game-changer to a division rival are astronomical. But as we’ve seen with Griffin’s career, not only is anything possible, it’s probable. Griffin will almost surely be cut loose at the end of this season, and you can bet that he wouldn’t mind suiting up in the silver-and-blue for two shots a year at his former team.
As for Walker, he’s said as recently as this past June that he thinks he could still play in the NFL. The way injuries are ravaging every roster, the 53-year-old might get his wish. (Kidding. Maybe.)
