Georgia State coach Ron Hunter and his chair immortalized with a bobblehead
The college basketball season is just a few weeks away now and another year of memories will be built, but before all that happens, it’s a good time to enjoy one of last season’s best moments one more time.
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has immortalized one of the best story lines of the 2014-15 campaign in the form of a bobblehead inspired by Georgia State head coach Ron Hunter.

You might recall Hunter suffered a torn Achilles tendon while celerating his team winning the Sun Belt Conference title. He spent the NCAA tournament getting around with the use of a scooter and coaching on the sidelines while perched on a rolling chair.
Hunter can be an emotional guy and some of his reactions to his team’s performance won’t soon be forgotten. He fell off his chair in the final seconds after watching his son, R.J., hit what proved to be the game-winning shot to upset No. 3 seed Baylor in the first round.

The feel-good story ended when Georgia State lost in the second round to Xavier, but Hunter saw his son get drafted in June by the Boston Celtics.
Kind of makes you wonder what is in store for college basketball fans in the coming months and which teams and characters we’ll be talking about in March and early April.
