Arkansas running back Rawleigh Williams underwent neck surgery Saturday evening after he was carted off the field with a neck injury against Auburn.
The freshman running back tweeted Sunday that he’s expected to make a full recovery.
Arkansas released a statement Sunday afternoon and said the timetable for Williams’ return is unclear.
Williams was injured when he was tackled on a third quarter carry. He was grabbed by the facemask as he was tackled by multiple Auburn players and his neck was jerked back. Arkansas eventually beat Auburn 54-46 in four overtimes.
Williams was a three-star recruit in the class of 2015 out of Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas according to Rivals. He had four carries for 18 yards against Auburn and has 56 carries for 254 yards and a touchdown in 2015.
