Mets' Cespedes feels better, ready for Game 1
Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes had to depart Game 4 of the NLCS early due to a shoulder injury — with controversy attached, since he had golfed earlier that day — but the World Series doesn’t start until Tuesday. He told reporters at a workout/press conference Saturday that he feels better.

If Cespedes couldn’t go at any point in the series, the Mets can go with defensive star Juan Lagares in center field, flanked by Curtis Granderson in right and Michael Conforto in left. As things stand, however, that shouldn’t be necessary.
Cespedes, 30, hit .291/.328/.542 with 42 doubles, six triples, 35 homers and 105 RBI this season. This postseason he’s hitting .265/.286/.471 with a double, two homers and seven RBI.
