Ward made 26 saves, including a lunging paddle stop on Matt Duchene, as the Hurricanes topped the Colorado Avalanche, 1-0. Another key save: Stopping Jarome Iginla in overtime. Victor Rask had the goal in the OT to win it.
No. 2 Star: Claude Giroux, Philadelphia Flyers
Giroux scored a third-period goal to spark a Flyers’ rally and then ended the game with a power-play goal in overtime as Philly topped the Boston Bruins, 5-4. Mark Streit had an assist on the game-winner, his third of the game.

No. 3 Star: Connor McDavid, Edmonton Oilers
McDavid’s fourth goal of the season was a brilliant deke move on Petr Mrazek, and it ended up being the game-winner in the Oilers’ 3-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings.
Honorable Mention: Tyler Ennis and Matt Moulson had the shootout goals in the Buffalo Sabres’ 2-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Evander Kane scored his first as a Sabre in the third to tie the game.
