Reports: Fred Jackson crashes near Seahawks’ facility
This season has already been off to an inauspicious start for the two-time defending NFC champion Seattle Seahawks, and Tuesday evening it took a destructive turn.
Via multiple reports, running back Fred Jackson crashed his car near the team facility, losing control of his black Corvette and hitting a large planter box and then a stop sign. Initial reports from TMZ indicated that Jackson was drag-racing Marshawn Lynch, but those reports were quickly refuted by players and reporters at the site of the wreck.
Richard Sherman and other Seattle players, apparently including Lynch, stopped at the scene and helped Jackson out of his car. Police arrived, and Seahawks staffers took Jackson back to the team facility.
Multiple reporters are tweeting that Jackson, 34 and in his first season with Seattle, is ok after the crash.
