The Saints came back from their week five loss to Philadelphia with a victory over Atlanta last week, a game that ended in a 31-21 score. The Saints claimed their second touchdown of the evening when Michael Mauti blocked a punt in Atlanta territory and brought it back for the score. The Saints proved their prowess on all fronts, with the defence forcing two fumbles in their own territory, and Drew Brees completing 30 of 39 passes for 312 yards and a touchdown. Tight end, Benjamin Watson caught 10 of 12 passes for 127 yards and a score.
The Saints’ offence hasn’t been one way or the other during this season, claiming an average of 22.3 points per game, ranking them 18th. However, they have managed to secure an average of 387 yards per game, which positions them seventh, although their 84.7 average rush yards give them a position of 31st. New Orleans does need more work on their defensive line though, having allowed an average of 409.7 yards per game, placing them in 32nd, bottom of the pack.
The Colts currently stand 3-3 this season, having lost their match against the Patriots last week. Some very stupid play took place in the third quarter of the match, as Indianapolis were down just six points and then decided to make a terrible fake punt. Such an awful choice wasted a solid effort from quarterback, Andrew Luck, who threw for 313 yards during the game and three touchdowns. Wide receiver, T.Y. Hilton led receptions with six catches for 74 yards and a touchdown, although it wasn’t enough to halt the 34-27 loss.
Luck has attempted 166 passes this season so far and has completed 95 of them for 1065 yards. He’s managed to claim eight touchdowns this season as well, but has also been sacked eight times as well. Rushing statistics show that Frank Gore has carried 89 for 403 yards and three touchdowns – the only three rushing touchdowns that Indianapolis have scored this season. A total of three fumbles have been forced by the Colts’ defensive line up, one from D’Qwell Jackson and the other two from Dariius Butler.

The Saints have been playing better and are coming off of a nice 10 point win over the Falcons last Thursday. The Colts are coming off an emotional loss to the Patriots last week. That should give New Orleans some sort of edge here, but that’s not enough. The Saints are banged up on the offensive line and if LT Terron Armstead cannot go they will be down to their third stringer Tony Hillis. The Colts did a decent job slowing down the Patriots last week and should be able to shut down their opponent this week. That puts a lot of pressure on the New Orleans’ defense who can get worn out if on the field too long (Philadelphia 39 points and 519 yards). Luck looked good in the first half against NE and if he should be better this week with his accuracy.
