Watch the first ever World Series promo starring ‘The Simpsons’
It’s not as break-the-Internet cool as the new “Star Wars” trailer, but the new World Series commercial from Fox is also pretty dang monumental. For the first time ever, Fox has enlisted its animated stalwarts, “The Simpsons,” to star in its World Series promo.
And, as you’d expect, it’s really good.

Sorry, there are no “d’ohs!” or chalkboard gags. Instead, the commercial hits the right note of prestige while working in some subtle “Simpsons” humor. It includes Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa, Maggie, Chief Wiggum, Ralph, Milhouse, Kang, Kodos — plus a Cardinals joke.
Look for this World Series ad to start airing on your television Wednesday. But if you’re a baseball fan and “Simpsons” diehard, we won’t blame you for watching it over and over and over right now, just like the “Star Wars” trailer.
