Football Contest – Chris' Week 9 Picks – Sentinel-Standard
The Ionia Sentinel-Standard weekly football contest, which involves citizens and the Sports Editor picking games each week, is in every Tuesday edition of the Sentinel-Standard.
The Sports Editor picks the teams he thinks will win and the public does the same with the help of the cut-out form in the Tuesday edition. Those who wish to participate can cut out the form on Page 5, fill it out and turn it into our office at 114 N. Depot St. by 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Each week, the overall winner can come in and select a gift certificate from any of the 15 establishments involved in the contest.

How about that weekend in football? Michigan State pulled off a miracle win in Ann Arbor, on a fumbled punt. If you happened to bet on that happening, you are one lucky person. The Lions actually won their first game of the season, in overtime, after nearly blowing it a number of times during the game.
Here’s who beat me this week. Dick Steward of Ionia is the overall winner. Also beating me, Ashley Tibble, Kristen Tibble and Lori Gustafson of Ionia and Bob Brown of Belding.
This was a much better week for me compared to last week. Here we are in the last week of high school regular season football, so this is your last chance to challenge me in this portion!
