Clemson have shown remarkable prowess this season in their gameplay, securing wins in all six of their matches so far. Last week saw them take down Boston College, a game that finished with a 34-17 outcome. The Tigers would put up 532 yards of solid offence altogether, which saw Boston College’s defensive line up scatter. Quarterback, Deshaun Watson would play his best game of the season in this match – something much needed considering his generally lacklustre performance until that point. The game against the Eagles would see him claim 420 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Rushing has been Clemson’s strong point, and running back, Wayne Gallman has carried 106 for 584 yards this season so far, recording five touchdowns in the process. Watson may have had a less-than-thrilling season in general, but has carried 56 for 234 yards and two rushing touchdowns to add to his 14 passing scores. A generally solid team of receivers has assisted Clemson with their victories, with Artavis Scott claiming 39 for 443 yards and four touchdowns.
Looking at the Hurricanes’ record this season (4-2), it could also be argued that while not as flawless as Clemson, Miami have played some great football. Their first outing saw them claim a 45-0 win, while last week put them back on the winning track with a 30-20 victory over Virginia Tech, having suffered losses in weeks four and five. Quarterback, Brad Kaaya played a very nice passing game against Virginia Tech’s structured defence, although Miami’s own defensive line up could take some pointers. While they are capable of pretty much shutting down opposing quarterbacks, their ability to cohesively work as a unit against all-comers needs working on.
Kaaya isn’t the only player who has shone for the Hurricanes this season. Running back, Joseph Yearby has carried 92 for 517 yards and five touchdowns, while Mark Walton has recorded 59 carries for 224 yards and another five touchdowns. Kaaya’s passes have been received mainly by Rashawn Scott, who has claimed 33 for 446 yards and four touchdowns. Furthermore, Michael Badgley’s kicking game has seen him earn 22 extra points for Miami, with 16 field goals made of a total 19 attempted.

The Hurricanes were surprised by the Bearcats three games back which in our opinion made this a better team. They played a fast improving Seminoles team tough on the road losing by 5 and put away the Hokies 30-20 last week. They passed well in that game getting for the second straight week and may find opportunities in the aerial attack this week against Clemson who allowed the only team they faced with a decent passing offense 321 passing yards.
