Who will win, Eagles vs. Giants? Prediction roundup from ESPN, Sports … – NJ.com
Not to brag, but at least one reporter saw this huge Monday night showdown between the Eagles and Giants at Lincoln Financial Field coming.
After the Eagles’ win over the New York Jets in Week 3, our own Mark Eckel wrote that come Oct. 19, head coach Chip Kelly’s team would be going against the Giants with first place in the NFC East on the line.
Well, here we go.
With a win on Monday night, the Eagles will move to 3-3, tied with the Giants, but holding the head-to-head tiebreaker, giving them the lead in the division through six weeks.
Lose, and the Eagles will be 2-4, two games (plus the tiebreaker) behind the Giants.
We got the prediction that this game would be for the early-season lead in the division right.
Now it’s time to see if we can pick the game.
Here is a round up of predictions from around the web, including our own:
NJ.com:
Eliot Shorr-Parks: Both the Eagles and Giants have momentum heading into this game. What the Giants don’t have is a clean bill of health. The team’s best cornerback, Prince Amukamara, is out. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. might be as well. The argument can be made those are the Giants’ best two players. That is a major break for the Eagles, who should be able to pass the ball against a beat-up Giants’ secondary, and not having to deal with Beckham — or dealing with Beckham at not 100% — could be the difference in the game. Eagles 35, Giants 21
Mark Eckel: It what is essentially a battle between two evenly matched teams, the Eagles hold three advantages. They are home. They are healthier. And they are the more desperate team. Add it up and by Tuesday morning they will also be in a tie for first place in the NFC East. Eagles 28, Giants 20
Matt Lombardo: Don’t look now, but Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford appears to finally be hitting his stride in Chip Kelly’s offense. Over the past two weeks Bradford has thrown for 603 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions while completing 64.4 percent of his passes for a 101.6 quarterback rating. Last week against the Saints’ porous run defense the Eagles put up 186 rushing yards. Look for Kelly to stick to the script once again against the Giants’ 30th ranked passing defense. Eagles 24, Giants 17.

The Eagles haven’t won consecutive games since late November of last season, but if they have any hope of being a factor in the NFC East race, they can’t afford to start 0–3 in the division, with a loss to each of their three division rivals. The Giants are playing well and starting to look like the team to beat in the East, and Eli Manninghas been near the top of his game during this three-game winning streak. That probably makes Giants fans a bit nervous, because New York has been very inconsistent the past three seasons, and the only thing that can be counted on from Tom Coughlin’s club is that an upswing will be followed by a downturn. Based on their productive second half against the Saints (with their admittedly horrible defense), the Eagles should be able to muster just enough offense to fight their way back to .500 and a share of first place. Eagles 24, Giants 20
ESPN:
Of the 13 experts polled, seven picked the Eagles, including Mike Golic and Ron Jaworski.

The Eagles finally got the offense cranked up last week against the Saints. But that’s the Saints and their horrible defense. The Giants will be a tougher test. The Giants have won two consecutive games and seem to be getting it going behind Eli Manning. This has all the makings of a shootout. Giants win it. Giants 27, Eagles 23
THE NO-HUDDLE SHOW, Ep. 11: Finally, a glimpse of what Eagles fans expected
There were plenty of encouraging signs in the Eagles’ blowout win over the Saints. From Fletcher Cox’s dominance to Josh Huff’s emergence, the Eagles showed what they’re capable of doing. Now the question is: Can they do it again vs. the Giants? Subscribe to the podcast on iTunes or Stitcher.
