Early morning fire drill for Panthers in Seattle after alarms pulled
The Carolina Panthers are in Seattle this week, putting their undefeated record on the line against the Seahawks.
One person who we can assume is one of Seattle’s 12th man fans took things too far, pulling the alarm at the Panthers’ team hotel early Sunday morning – but only the alarm on the floors where Carolina’s players and coaches were asleep.
Though the Panthers’ team Twitter account initially posted that the alarm went off at 6 a.m. Pacific time, a statement from the team said it was a little earlier than that.
Panthers players also took to Twitter to document the pitiful prank:
In a statement, Carolina said the alarms were pulled at approximately 5:40 a.m., and players and staff were evacuated and staged in meeting rooms on the first floor of the hotel. By 6 a.m., the all-clear was given and they were able to return to their rooms.
Charlotte Observer beat writer Joe Person tweeted that the manager of the hotel said the incident is being investigated.
