Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions Point Spread Pick and Betting Odds. The 2-3 Chicago Bears head into the 0-5 Detroit Lions for this week 6 NFL match-up on Sunday, Oct 18, 2015 on the turf of Ford Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00PM ET.
Betting Odds
Point Spread: Detroit -3
Total Line: 44
Chicago defeated their second-straight AFC West opponent last Sunday, holding on for an 18-17 win at Kansas City. QB Jay Cutler was 26-45 for 252 yards and 2 TDs. While he didn’t throw an interception he did lose a fumble. He was also sacked twice. The ground game never got going as they rushed for 87 yards on 26 carries. They allowed 117 yards to the Chiefs on the ground on 25 carries, better than a 4.5 ypc clip. They don’t have to fear the run this week as the Lions are the worst rushing team in the NFL.
Detroit set a record but didn’t end their winless streak last week, as they fell 42-17 to Arizona at home. QBs Matt Stafford and Dan Orlovsky combined to throw 70 passes, a new record for one game. Unfortunately they also threw 4 of which the Cards intercepted. They also lost 2 fumbles. The running game remained non-existent as they tallied 57 yards on 18 carries. They allowed 3 TDs through the air and were trampled on the ground to the tune of 187 yards and 3 TDs. They are in the middle of a 3-game homestand and need a win desperately.

The Bears offense has looked okay in the last two weeks since QB Jay Cutler returned out yarding their opponent in consecutive narrow wins. The Bears may be healthier on offense this week with starting Jermon Bushrod expected to play and their No. 1 WR Alshon Jeffries who has been out since Week 1 having a shot to make his return. Defense is a different story with starters SS Antrel Rolle and ILB Shea McClellin out and DL Ego Ferguson doubtful. OLB Pernell McPhee and NT Jay Ratliff are also questionable this week. You could easily make an argument that a healthy Chicago defense would be the weakest the Lions have met this season after playing four of their five games against teams ranked in the top 9 for scoring defense. With the injuries this on paper is a big dropdown. Last season they split the games versus the total with the game in Detroit ending 34-17 easily surpassing the 46 point line. The other match came at Soldier Field with Jimmy Clausen behind center.
