Everton are the target of a potential takeover by US investors connected to Sporting Kansas City, reports emerged today by the BBC.
It’s understood that Everton value the club at £225 million, and that Robb Heineman, the CEO of Sporting Club, the parent company of Sporting Kansas City, will be at Goodison Park this Saturday for takeover discussions.
According to SB Nation, the five principal partners of Sporting Club offer an impressive resumé and are involved in many sports franchises:
• Neal Patterson (CEO and co-founder of the Cerner Corporation)
• Clifford Illig (co-founder and vice-chairman of the Cerner board)
• Pat Curran (founder of C3 Holdings)
• Greg Maday (CEO of SpecChem, Founding Partner at Rock Island Capital LLC)
• Robb Heineman (CEO of Sporting Club, Founding Partner at Rock Island Capital LLC)
Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright said in 2007 that “If the right person stands in front of me and wants to take this club forward then I will sell.”
