Brad Keselowski wins pole at Kansas
Brad Keselowski will start first at Kansas on Sunday.
However, Keselowski won’t have the first choice of pit stalls. Pit stall choices go by the qualifying results and Keselowski would get to pick first by winning the pole. His team received its fourth inspection warning (along with Tony Stewart) and the penalty is pit stall selectio. Therefore Keselowski’s team will choose after everyone else.
It means the last pit stall on pit road – it’s got a clean exit, which is why most pole winners choose that stall – will be chosen by Carl Edwards. He qualified second.
A non-Chase driver was fastest in the second round. Kind of surprising, eh? And it wasn’t even a full-time driver. Ryan Blaney posted the fastest speed. He’ll start eighth.
Here’s how the Chase drivers will start at Kansas:
Brad Keselowski, 1st
Carl Edwards, 2nd
Kyle Busch, 3rd
Kevin Harvick, 4th
Denny Hamlin, 5th
Jeff Gordon, 6th
Martin Truex Jr., 7th
Kurt Busch, 9th
Ryan Newman, 10th
Matt Kenseth, 11th
Joey Logano, 14th
Dale Earnhardt Jr., 15th
