NHL Three Stars: Duclair dominates Ducks: Hayes helps desperate Bruins
No. 1 Star: Anthony Duclair, Arizona Coyotes
The rookie was a speedy dynamo against the Anaheim Ducks, netting his first NHL hat trick. In three games, Ducalir has five points for the surprising Coyotes, who are 3-0-0 and beaten both the Ducks and the Kings. This is the first time the Coyotes franchise has started the year with three straight wins since 2003-04.
No. 2 Star: Jimmy Hayes, Boston Bruins
The power winger had a big breakout game with the Bruins. He scored his first goal and notched two assists in a much-needed 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche. The Bruins were 0-3-0 and had been outscored 16-7 leading up to the contest.
No. 3 Star: Erik Karlsson, Ottawa Senators
His four assists were a career-best in Ottawa’s 7-3 drubbing of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Karlsson played 22:43 and has seven points in his first four games – all assists.
